A bit of information about me
Hey there! My name is Mia Tamburrini and I'm thrilled to be sharing my journey in the world of butchery with you. I'm a Level 2 Retail and Level 3 Advanced Butcher based in Suffolk, and I have a passion for crafting the best quality meats for my customers.
People often ask me how I started my butchery journey, and the truth is that it all began with a part-time job. When I was in sixth form, I started working as a Saturday girl at a local butchers in Saffron Walden. I enjoyed the job so much that I decided to leave school and work there full-time instead. After a few months, my boss recommended that I enroll in a level 2 retail butchery apprenticeship, which was the start of my professional career.
Over the years, I've worked at various shops, including butchers, farm shops, and delis. I learned a lot from each of these places and the people I worked with, including some top chefs who decided to take up butchery as a course. These experiences helped shape me into the highly qualified butcher I am today.
Now, I'm running my own business with a focus on providing top-quality butchery services for farmers, small holders, and gamekeepers. Along the way, I've been fortunate enough to be nominated for and awarded a variety of certificates and awards, including the Women in Meat 2022 Craft Butchery category and the Best Meat Apprentice with Management Potential 2022. Most recently, I was awarded Champion Meat Apprentice for 2022, which was a huge honour.
I'm a proud member of the Institute of Meat and I regularly attend webinars and events with the Worshipful Company of Butchers to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and techniques in the trade. I also enjoy reading Meat Management Magazine and New Food Magazine, where I keep myself informed with the latest news and stories.
I'm excited to continue on this journey in the world of butchery, and I hope to continue providing my customers with the highest quality meats and products for years to come. Thanks for taking the time to get to know me!
